Anyone Want to Buy a House?

Anyone want to buy a house in middle Tennessee? It’s quite lovely. And I just want RID OF IT.

Got a notice in the mail today that the house was reassessed. Lovely that it’s worth more and all … except that it’s not going to help me one bit on the selling price BUT it will cost me more on taxes. The taxes are rolled into the mortgage payment, which means I get to pay even more for a house I’m not even residing in.

Being an adult sucks sometimes, ya know?

Also, randomly…

  • Having a person who you admire greatly copy something you did (or rather, be inspired by it and improve on it) is so flattering. Totally made my night.
  • I can’t seem to walk anywhere in this house without tripping over a dog. Three dogs in one house is a lot more chaos than I anticipated. It’s also good for a lot of laughs, however.
  • I re-did my main landing page for all my web projects. It’s not technically “done” (or at least, not how I wanted it, but who knows if I’ll finish it ultimately), but I’m still happy with it. I’m thinking I’m going to get rid of my knitting blog because I never update it. Not that I don’t knit anymore, but not as much as I used to, and if it’s something particularly interesting, I can share it here. I do, however, update my two tumblr blogs (Geeking Out and Eclectic Style) fairly regularly.
  • I’m ridiculously excited about the new version of TweetDeck that was released and am eagerly anticipating WordPress 3‘s final release. (Which goes to show you what a giant geek I am.)
  • I’ve been out late this week far too many nights in a row. I’m too old for that crap. Mike and I went to Fox and Hound the other night for (as he put it) fish’n chips and a pint! I skipped the pint part though. I’ve never been much of a fan of beer. Then we rented and watched Lovely Bones and both wound up in a totally depressed mood. Hmph. I’m not sure what we’re doing this weekend; I think we’re going to see what bands are playing and perhaps go see some of his friends play. It’s kind of fun knowing someone who’s so involved and well-known in the local music scene. Everywhere I go with Mike, I wind up meeting lots of new people. Keeps things interesting!

It’s getting late and I’m getting tired, so I’m heading to bed. Thank goodness the week is winding down!
