Life in Beta

Today is a good day for this, because my brain isn’t really firing on all cylinders anyway.

• I redesigned my “landing page” for all my sites (AmandaWeber.com). Not too exciting, I guess, but it’s shiny and purty.
• I think I’m finally becoming a Google Chrome convert. I never thought it would happen, ever. (‘Cause I loved Firefox so much.) But now the beta version with the extensions … love. And Google Chrome for Mac (which, unfortunately doesn’t have the beta/extensions version available yet)? OMG… blazing fast!
• Google also unveiled their Nexus One phone today. Looks pretty sexy. I like the looks of it better than the Droid. However, it’s going to be on TMobile’s network so… pfft. If I’m going to move away from Verizon, it’s going to be to AT&T for an iPhone (*lust*).
• If I could rig up a hamster cage that looked like this, I’d totally have pet hamsters again. (Hell, I’d like to be the hamster that gets to live in that swanky pad!)
• My buddy Matty got a new Leica S2 and posted a YouTube video of it being unboxed. He’s gotten featured on TechCrunch, Engadget and a bunch of other places. I have major geek-envy.

Quickly…

• After years and years of trying to snipe it up, I finally got LifeInBeta.com. I’m not sure how much of a dork this makes me, but I’m really excited about it.
• I’ve been posting a few things over at Mandi Knits. Holiday knitting hysteria has kicked in. (I’m currently working on a giraffe that eerily resembles a misshapen butternut squash.)
• I got an invite today to Google Wave. Also using Google Voice. (I’m such a Google fan-girl.) I can’t wait till more of my friends/coworkers are on Google Wave so I can really get some use out of it, though. So far I’m extremely impressed.
• TweetDeck (my Twitter client of choice) has died on me suddenly so I’ve been using the beta of Brizzly. It’s growing on me, but I still find having to have another browser tab open constantly rather irritating. (I much prefer TweetDeck, which can just live in my system tray and update me as tweets come through. *sigh* Hope they get it fixed…)
• New freelance project: CastingShadowsMusic.com. Very much in the early stages of development, but go give the boys some love.
