Gosh, I love all these female artists who can just belt it out. Seriously, I’m in love …
… and …
Adele’s album, 21, was released earlier this year and Christina Perri’s album, Lovestrong, comes out in May. I seriously think I need both, immediately. {Ok, so I have to wait till May for the one… fine.}
Ever since I started dating my hunny, I’ve gotten more into music than I ever have been before. He’s somehow convinced (re-convinced?) me to move away from using iTunes or Amazon to buy MP3s and instead return to buying actual CDs.
I didn’t “get it” when he first tried to persuade me, and I can’t explain it even now that I agree. There’s just something satisfying about having the actual album physically in your hands (particularly if there’s nice album art) that is just satisfying to me.
Do you prefer buying CDs or just downloading from iTunes or Amazon? Why?
Though this is far from being a typical love song, for me the lyrics convey an ultimate expression of love between soulmates. It’s one of my favorite songs, and has such a special meaning in my heart.
The song was made famous by Death Cab for Cutie, but this particular cover is the best I’ve heard and I prefer it to the original. The video makes me cry…
What’s your favorite song, and what special meaning does it hold for you?
On my commute home from work last night, I was scrolling through my iPod, trying to find a new playlist to listen to. That’s when I stumbled upon the automatically-generated Top 25 Most Played playlist. It piqued my curiosity, so I selected it and hit play.
Some songs weren’t a big surprise, but a few seemed completely out of left-field (see #18, for example). So, without further adieu, enjoy my (embarrassing) list, linked to the song/video/band wherever possible…
Crazy by Gnarls Barkley — Can’t believe this is on here! At my old job, a coworker of mine used to listen to this on repeat All. Day. LONG. I can’t stand this song anymore.
The Way I Are by Timbaland featuring Heri Hilson & D.O.E. — Totally random! I love the beat and it’s another song I love to turn up loud when I’m driving in the Z.
I’m in a Hurry by Alabama — Apparently I’ve been on an Alabama-kick recently?
If you have an iPod or other MP3 player that aggregates your “Top ‘X’ Songs”, I dare you to have a look, then post about it at your blog and comment here with the link, or just post your list in the comments!
